Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has said that there is no injury scare to her after she twisted her foot while fielding in the third T20I against England in Mumbai on Sunday. It was during the 16th over of the England innings when she would suffer the injury scare. With the skipper delaying her entrance after appearing to twist her foot while fielding, she came in at No. 5, she led the remainder of the chase with Amanjot Kaur to seal the win with an over to spare.
Harmanpreet had attempted to catch a mistimed shot from Charlie Dean but the ball landed short of her. While trying to stop it, she would then jam her foot on the ground and go down in pain.
Smriti Mandhana would then take over as captain as Harmanpreet went to the dressing room to get some medical treatment. Harmanpreet would later come on to bat and saw her side over the line as India won the game by five wickets.
Harmanpreet later said that she was fine and was used to such niggles. She saw the improvement in her team during the series and said that they got better as they had match time under their belt.
"I'll be fine. I'm used to these niggles. I know. I still remember what he (WV Raman) said. Don't throw yourself while batting," Harmanpreet said at the post-match presentation.
"If I talk about the game, we have improved as a team. We want game time. How many games we keep on playing, we keep improving. The wicket was a bit tricky and we wanted to keep hanging here. Some of the balls were turning and some were going straight. Especially, when the off-spinners were bowling. You had to keep thinking which was going to turn and which wasn't going to turn," Harmanpreet added.
