One of the problems for Bangalore last season was the inexperience of their spin attack and they went all out in addressing that area of concern in the auction. Two of their three picks in Round 1 were Australia's legspinner Georgia Wareham and the left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht, fighting off competition from Gujarat Giants for Bisht.

Speaking after the auction, Mandhana said that she is happy with the fact that her side chose to spend limited money on bowlers ahead of WPL 2024. Besides Wareham, Bangalore also bought Kate Cross and Sophie Molineux.
The side didn't pay big bucks to anyone, unlike Delhi Capitals, Giants, and UP Warriorz. The Capitals bought Annabel Sutherland for Rs 2 crore, while the Giants paid the same amount for uncapped allrounder Kashvee Gautam.
“Bowling is very important in T20s and a good bowling side wins you competition, and this year we were looking to strengthen our spin unit and also look for overseas pacers who can complement Renuka [Singh] well. We have Kate Cross now and I think she will complement Renuka well in the power play with both swinging the other way," Mandhana said in a press release.
The Indian cricketer added that the planning for the auction started after the first season and the management was keen to focus more on experienced bowlers who have delivered in Indian conditions. RCB also picked young Indian allrounder Simran Bahadur for Rs 30 lakh.
Bangalore picked Karnataka allrounder Shubha Satheesh from the city before adding S Meghana into the team.
