The preparations for IPL 2024 are in full swing and the teams are gearing up for the mini-auction, scheduled for December 19 in Dubai. The teams have already submitted the list of retained and released players to the BCCI. More than 1150 players have registered for the T20 league, but only few of them will be able to fetch a bid during the auction.
A couple of weeks before the auction, Jason Holder has picked two teams he wants to be part of in IPL 2024. Speaking to ANI, Holder said that he has been part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and that it would be nice to return to any of these two teams.
"The T20 cricket you play leading up to a World Cup is always beneficial. Definitely, the IPL being played before the T20 World Cup would help. It will help the players prepare mentally as well," Holder told ANI.
"I have had a good time with Sunrisers (Hyderabad) and Chennai (Super Kings) as well. One of those two teams would be nice to go back to but it is not in my hands."
Holder was part of CSK back in 2013. He has been part of SRH for three years. Holder's stocks have risen in IPL of late and he joined Lucknow Super Giants for a huge sum of Rs 8.75 crore in the IPL 2022 mega-auction. Interestingly, CSK were also ready to pay him big money during the auction.
Back in the auction for IPL 2023, Holder was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 5.75 crore. Once again, CSK were keen to buy him and made the penultimate bid worth Rs 5.50 crore.
Holder had a one-year stint with Rajasthan and he is back in the IPL auction. The former West Indies captain is once again expected to be one of the top picks in the IPL auction.
