The eagerly awaited first T20I between South Africa and India at Kingsmead, Durban, was unfortunately washed out due to persistent rain. While the weather in the morning offered some hope with sunshine, the afternoon saw dark clouds gathering, leading to the inevitable cancellation of the match.
There were visuals of fans who had arrived to witness the clash between two cricketing powerhouses but were left disappointed.
The stadium's mood was melancholy as the rain continued to pour, denying any chance of play.
However, amidst the gloom, India batter Ishan Kishan had some fun with the cameraman as Team India was spotted waiting in the dressing room.
Incidentally, it was also on this day that Ishan Kishan scored the fastest ODI double hundred off 126 balls.
Meanwhile, with the match being abandoned, it was a disappointing start to the three-match T20I series.
Both teams will be hoping for better weather and a chance to showcase their skills in the remaining two matches.
The second T20I is scheduled to take place on December 13th in Johannesburg, and fans will be eagerly hoping for a rain-free day and a thrilling encounter between the two sides.
