Thane: A 26-year-old citizen from the United States (US) has been booked for allegedly sexually harassing a woman house-keeping staffer at a hotel in Navi Mumbai, Thane, Maharashtra, an official said on Sunday.
According to the cops, the incident took place around 11:30 am on Saturday at the hotel, which is located in the Turbhe area.
In her complaint, the 23-year-old woman said that when she entered an apartment in the hotel, the accused allegedly took off his bathrobe and sought sexual favour from her.
The victim later approached the police with a complaint, following which an FIR was registered on Saturday night against the man, resident of Pennsylvania in the US, under Indian Penal Code section 354A (sexual harassment), he said.
No arrest has been made so far and an investigation is underway, the police added.
In another incident, a woman allegedly attempted to kill her 61-year-old husband by setting him on fire in Kalyan city in the Thane district of Maharashtra.
The woman committed the crime with the help of two others over a domestic dispute, the police said on Saturday.
The other two male accused in the case are friends of one of the daughters of the victim, an official said.
