UP Family Thrashes Officials, Unleashes Dogs On Them To Escape Unpaid Power Bills

Lucknow: In a shocking incident, a family thrashed power department officials and unleashed their two large pet dogs upon them for collecting overdue electric bills in Bulandshahr of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday evening. Reportedly, they even pulled out a gun to chase the officials away.
According to The Times Of India, a team from Pashchimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) went to Gyan Lok colony to visit Rajendra Chaudhary’s house in order to recover a pending bill exceeding Rs 3.5 lakh.
The team included junior engineer Jyoti Bhaskar Sinha, sub-divisional officer Reena, employees Sudheer Kumar and Mohd Iqbal and driver Mohd Irshad.
However, Chaudhary, his wife Kavita, son Vishal, and his friend refused to pay the overdue bill and instead beat them up with sticks and let loose their pet dogs, a German Shepherd and a Labrador, on them, sources told TOI.
Reportedly, Sinha was injured in both the dog and stick attack, while his coworkers sustained minor injuries when they tried to rescue Sinha.
Speaking to the publication, Sinha stated, "We had asked the family to pay the dues to the tune of Rs 3.57 lakh, but instead they started abusing us and got into a brawl with my team. That is when Vishal and his friend unleashed their pet dogs on us. They pounced on me and bit my hand. As I fell, the family attacked me with sticks and iron rods, leaving bruises and injuries all over my back. They even chased us with a gun in hand."
Meanwhile, SP (city) Surendra Nath Tiwari said, "An FIR has been registered at Bulandshahr police station under IPC Sections 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animals), 323 and 324 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 and 506 (criminal intimidation) against the family and the unidentified accomplice."
The suspects are absconding and the police are trying to nab them.
