'Sighting Of An Amphibious Creature': Anand Mahindra Shares Video Of Thar SUV Ruling The Chennai Floods

Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group, has shared a clip on the social media platform 'X' of a Thar SUV triumphing over the challenging conditions during the floods in Chennai. The clip shows the SUV throttling it way out of flooded streets with water levels reaching up to the SUV's bonnet. The video underscores the rugged capabilities of the Thar as it effortlessly maneuvers through the waterlogged streets. Anand Mahindra's social media post has now been retweeted multiple times on the microblogging website and has garnered over half a million views already.

Mahindra Thar SUV is best-selling model in its segment and over the years it had built a reputation for being one of the most rugged cars in its class. As a rival to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, the Thar has carved a niche for itself with its off-road capabilities, and brawny looks that make it stand out in a league of its own.

While currently the Thar has been priced in the range of Rs 10.98 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 14.72 lakh (ex-showroom), the prices are bound to go up in January 2024, as part of yearly price revision. Apart from Mahindra, even other OEMs such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Honda and others will be hiking prices of their respective cars in January 2024.

Meanwhile, the Mahindra Thar SUV is also in the news as the Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin arrived in one for an on-site inspection of cyclone-affected regions earlier on Tuesday. The political leader was seen traveling in a red coloured old-gen Thar SUV which facilitated the Chief Minister's survey of cyclone-ravaged locations. (Read more here)
