In the previous election, K.T. Rokhaw won the seat by a margin of 844 votes. A total of 5492 votes were polled for K.T. Rokhaw.
In 2018, 14677 males from the Palak seat exercised their voting right, while, 7282 females voted in the poll.
Voting for the Mizoram Assembly elections took place on November 7. The State recorded 77.04% polling. In the 40-seat Assembly, the party or coalition that seeks to govern the state must win at least 21 seats.
