Mumbai: The train services on the Central Railway (CR) line near Kasara, which were disrupted due to the derailment of a goods train resumed operations on Monday morning. The services on the affected stretch were restored at 9:04 am.
Four trains, including this goods train, were stopped as a result of the Sunday evening incident, which occurred at 6:30 p.m, because of which the Central Railways had to reschedule and divert other long-distance trains via some alternate route. The second train, 12165 LTT-Gorakhpur Express, passed from Kasara via the downline at 09.26am on its proper scheduled route.
The Central Railway was forced to use an alternative route and reschedule numerous additional long-distance trains. However, this incident had little effect on suburban rail services.
"The down main line restoration work was completed at 8.35 am. The first train to pass through the affected stretch was 12859 CSMT-Howrah Gitanjali express at 9.04am," a CR spokesperson mentioned, as quoted by The Times of India.
At 10.29 p.m. during the night, traffic on the middle line was resumed. The official added that four mail express trains were transported from Kasara to the Igatpuri side via the Middle Line.
To oversee the repair work, senior railway authorities, such as divisional railway manager Rajnish Goyal and CR general manager RK Yadav, were present at the location.
Kasara Ghat has three lines-Up line, down line and middle line.
