'Missed The Mark': KTR's Hattrick Dream Shattered, Concedes Defeat

New Delhi: K T Rama Rao, son of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, conceded defeat on Sunday as trends indicated a significant resurgence for the Congress in the southern state. Interestingly, KTR had confidently anticipated a hat trick victory for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in this assembly election. The Telangana IT Minister had even shared a photo of himself holding a pistol, captioning it "Hattrick Loading 3.0 Get ready to celebrate guys."
However, as the day unfolded, the TRS's ambition of retaining the state slipped away, with Congress emerging as the single largest party and comfortably crossing the majority mark, according to the latest trends.
Adding to the dramatic turn of events, KTR, on X, shared a candid picture with the caption, "This one ain’t gonna age well. Missed the mark."
In a major setback for BRS, KCR himself was trailing by over 20,000 votes in Kamareddy seat, but leading in Gajwel at the time of filing of this story.
The Congress's recent triumph now secures its independent governance in three states – Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana. The party is additionally part of ruling coalitions in Bihar and Jharkhand, and an ally of the DMK in Tamil Nadu, despite not holding a direct role in the state government.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed confidence in the Congress's anticipated victory in Telangana, based on internal assessments.
