Koffee With Karan S8 Episode 7 Review: Kiara Advani, Vicky Kaushal Were Kafi 'Kolourless' With Karan Johar

Two oops moments apart, there was something lacking in the latest episode of Koffee With Karan. Something that makes a dish come alive, the tadka, if you please.

Oops Moments

First the two oops moments: when Kiara blurted out she 'did' Dhoni (she meant she did the film on Dhoni) and when she told the host Karan he was the same generation as her parents. Karan threw a fit and threatened to take back all the compliments he had showered on her earlier during the show.

Lacking A Punch

This was one of the most sluggish episodes ever of Koffee With Karan, reminding us that being glamorous, good-looking and groomed are not the three prerequisites on how to win the hamper.

A lack of basic charm can hamper the guests in unexpected ways. As expected, most of the episode went into Kiara, Kaushal, Karan and the Kouch, the four leads in this dull multi-starrer, counting their blessings for the company they keep.

Some of Kaushal’s revelations on marriage with Katrina threatened to go in the fun zone. But then at the last moment, the anecdote lost its sheen. I did enjoy Kaushal imitating his wife's dance steps in one of the segments (can't remember what it was, as the segments keep changing each week). But that apart, it felt like the two Ks on the Kouch were trying too hard not to be typical Karan Johar guests.

Karan tried hard to be provocative with questions like, ‘Name three things that you put in your mouth’ and ‘Name three things that you use in bed.’ But the guests, probably smarter than they seemed, wouldn’t bite the bait. While the hosts tried to take the episode into the ‘A’ zone, Kiara and Kaushal stuck to 'PG.' Hot stars in a Disney mode.
