Kaiva Review: Dhanveerrah, Megha Shetty's Film Is An Action-Packed Tale

Director Jayathirtha's latest film, Kaiva, starring Dhanveerrah and Megha Shetty, has hit theatres on December 8.

Said to be a period drama with the right amount of action scenes, the film has been getting attention ever since it was announced. The teasers, songs and its diverse cast, have been the talk of the town. Even the pre-release event was attended by Kannada cinema's big stars including Challenging Star Darshan, Rachita Ram, Asha Bhat, Abhishek Ambareesh and Chikkanna.

Kaiva's Plot

The film is said to be a period drama, set in 1983 against the backdrop of Karaga Utsav, which will feature elements of crime and love based on a real incidents. According to the makers, the world-famous Karaga festival held in Bengaluru, led by a tragic incident that shook the city at that time have a connection with the film. A seven-storey under-construction building collapsed near Kapali cinema in 1983, resulting in the death of at least 123 people and injuring 120.

According to the director, every character in Kaiva possesses unique traits, and their roles hold a significant importance in the story. Inspired by the lord’s name, Kaivara Bheema, this project marks Jayathirtha’s first action film. He previously directed Olave Mandara, Beautiful Manasugalu, Bell Bottom, and Banaras. This also marks Jayathirtha's first association with Dhanveerrah.
