  • He acknowledged Roman Reigns on the show
  • Punk took a dig at Seth Rollins during his segment
CM Punk made his much-awaited return to Smackdown this week and made a huge announcement. The former WWE Champion spoke on a range of topics during his segment and also talked about finishing the story. Punk raised eyebrows by acknowledging Roman Reigns. He did not forget to remind him that he was a Paul Heyman guy before him.
"Roman Reigns, tribal chief I acknowledge you, congrats on your success, don’t forget who the OG Paul Heyman guy is, don’t forget that he was my wise man first," Punk said.
Punk also took a dig at Seth Rollins during his segment. The WWE veteran, though, did not mention Rollins' name. The World Heavyweight Champion was furious with Punk and there's a clear hint that they will be involved in a storyline soon.
Punk also talked about finishing the story and wanting to main event a Wrestlemania. The fact that he couldn't main event a Wrestlemania during his first run with WWE upset Punk. He did face The Undertaker at the Show of the Shows but it wasn't the main event.
While he did not confirm his participation in the Royal Rumble, Punk looks all but set to be part of the 30-man match in January 2024. He could earn the main event spot by winning the Royal Rumble.
Punk ended his segment by announcing that he will decide his future brand on next week's Raw. Nick Aldis, who is the General Manager of Smackdown, is likely to be on Raw next week. He successfully signed Randy Orton on Smackdown last week.
Since Smackdown has already signed Randy, Punk is likely to choose Monday Night Raw. Apart from CM Punk's announcement, there are many more things to look forward to on the red brand as Cody Rhodes will be in action against Shinsuke Nakamura. All eyes will also be on Drew McIntyre on Raw.
