Ghaziabad: A woman, her alleged lover and one other person have been arrested by the Ghaziabad Police for allegedly killing her husband in Indirapuram earlier this week.
The police said that the accused, Pushpa and Shailendra Valmiki, allegedly planned to murder the victim, Brij Kishore. To execute this plan, the suspects also included Shailendra’s cousin, Nanhe Valmiki.
Notably, the victim and all the accused are residents of Sector 63, reported The Times Of India.
The report said Shailendra used to live on rent next door to Brij and had borrowed some money from him. However, he was not returning the money and also developed a love affair with his wife, Pushpa.
Police said Shailendra and Nanhe took him to a service road near the Chhijarsi underpass.
“They fought with him, stabbed him in the neck and repeatedly hit him with bricks. They left Brij to die and fled from the scene,” DCP Patel told TOI.
The police were alerted by passersby that a body was lying near the Chhijarsi underpass.
The DCP stated that the body was taken into custody and was sent to a mortuary. It was not identified as Brij’s until his brother, Lokpal, identified it.
Brij’s phone got switched off near Chhijarsi four days before his murder, said Patel.
The police have registered a case against the suspects under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
