Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has extended an election ticket proposal to Kannada film star Shiva Rajkumar for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. During the 'Eidiga' community convention in Bengaluru on Sunday, Shivakumar said that he has urged Shiva Rajkumar to contest from "any constituency" in the Lok Sabha.
"I have asked Shivraj Kumar to contest from any constituency in Lok Sabha in Karnataka as it is a great opportunity for anyone to enter the Lok Sabha," he said.
Meanwhile, Shiva Rajkumar is occupied with multiple ongoing projects and several films in his lineup. As a result, he has not confirmed whether he will accept the offer or not. Shiva Rajkumar, the renowned actor and son of the legendary Dr. Rajkumar, holds strong ties with the Congress Party. Sources suggest he might join the party in the near future.
Shiv Rajkumar's brother-in-law, Madhu Bangarappa, holds the position of Education Minister in Karnataka. Geeta Shiv Rajkumar, the wife of the Kannada superstar, also became a member of the Congress party before the Assembly elections in April this year.
At the same time, DK Shivakumar, who serves as the President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), is actively striving to secure at least 20 seats in Karnataka for the Congress party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. This effort aims to demonstrate the party's strength following its significant victory earlier this year.
