BTS' RM Bids Emotional Goodbye To ARMY Before Military Enlistment: It Can Be Scary, BUT...

Bring out you tissues ARMY, because RM's 'goodbye' letter is here. Just a day before his reported enlistment date, the BTS star penned a heart-warming note to fans, asking them to not be sad and look forward to the group's reunion.

RM pens letter before enlistment

Taking to Weverse, the rapper revealed that while he wanted to say a lot to his 'dear friends' before enlisting, he was at loss for words. "That day has finally come," he wrote, before adding, "I was so happy to be able to live as a member of BTS for the past ten years. I've been saying this all along, but the end is just another beginning! I have no doubt that something good will be waiting for us once we pass."

Praising fellow bandmates Jin and J-hope, who had enlisted, last year, RM added, "They must have had a much harder time than us, who followed behind. Seeing them doing so bravely and so well, even though it is late, gives me greater courage." The BTS star further stated, "I believe that 18 months, which may be long or short, will be a time of unfamiliar and new inspiration and learning for all of us. It can be scary, but is there anything more comforting than knowing that you have something to look forward to during that vague time?"

"I always wanted to be the person who was by your side, even when you were not by my side. I hoped that we would live each of our lives hard in our own places, and when we come back, we would be smiling brightly and being more informal, filled with heart and soul. When I return, I'll say hello again so that we can be ourselves wherever. See you in the future. I love you so much. Hoping to reach you even a little," RM concluded the heartwarming letter.

RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook to enlist

On December 5, BTS' label released an official notice about RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook's enlistment plans. "RM and V will be enlisting according to their respective procedures, while Jimin and Jungkook are scheduled to enlist together," they wrote. If reports are anything to go by, RM is set to join the Nonsan Training Center on December 11.
