Brahmastra 2: Will Ranveer Singh Play Antagonist Dev In Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt Starrer?

Ever since, Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra Part One: Shiva hit the theatres, last year, the film has been generating a significant buzz in the industry for its Part 2. The movie is helmed by Ayan Mukerji and features powerhouse performers Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Amitabh Bachchan in key roles. Well, we've some major updates about the second part. According to reports, Ranveer Singh will portray the much-anticipated role of Dev, the antagonist, in the movie.

Yes, you read it right! If reports are to be believed, as per the media portal, Ranveer has reportedly given his approval to portray the eagerly awaited character in the film. Dev was revealed as the antagonist towards the conclusion of Brahmastra Part 1.

According to News18 Showsha, "Ranveer Singh has been finalised to play the role of Dev. He has signed the dotted line. The scripting for the second part is still in progress and the film is expected to roll in 2025. Currently, Ayan is busy with War 2 and Ranveer will also begin shooting for Baiju Bawra this year. So, when Brahmastra 2 will go on floors is still unclear."

The reports further stated that, if everything goes smoothly, Ranveer will begin filming for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Baiju Bawra in mid-2024. While the initial plan was to start shooting for Brahmastra 2 in early 2025, there are now indications that Don 3 will also start production around the same time. Ranveer will likely film for Don 3 first and then proceed with Brahmastra 2.

Going by the reports, the film will mark the debut instance where two real-life Bollywood couples, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, along with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, will collaborate on-screen. In the movie Brahmastra, Deepika takes on the role of Amrita, who is Ranbir Kapoor's on-screen mother.

Ayan's Brahmastra Part One - Shiva, was one of the highest-grossing films of 2022.
