Hyundai Motor India on Thursday revealed the plans to raise the prices of its models starting January 1, 2024. This is part of the company's yearly price revision strategy and it added that the decision is attributed to factors such as escalating input costs, unfavorable exchange rates, and a surge in commodity prices. Apart from Hyundai, other major car players such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, etc. have also announced that their products will become expensive in India starting January 2024.
“At Hyundai Motor India, we always try to absorb the cost escalations to the extent possible and ensure continuous customer delight. However, it has now become imperative to pass on some portion of the rising input cost to the market through a minor price increase. The price hike will be effective from January 1st, 2024,” said Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai Motor India, commenting on the price hike.
Moreover, Hyundai has also announced that it will be introducing the Creta facelift in the Indian market in January. The new facelift SUV will replace the existing model and is also expected to be priced tad upwards. With the mid-life cycle update, the Creta is bound to receive notable changes to the exteriors, mainly concentrated upfront. In addition, also expect Hyundai to rejig its features list to compete fiercely with the rising competition in the compact SUV segment.
Creta has been the top-seller in its segment, and with the forthcoming facelift, Hyundai is aiming to push the sales further up to meet the riding demands in the segment.
