Article 370 of the Indian Constitution granted special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir which was given to the state from 1954- 31 October 2019. The Article came into the limelight after its abrogation along with Article 35A under the Modi government on August 5, 2019. After the abrogation of Article 370, the state was separated into two separate union territories, namely the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the Union Territory of Ladakh.
