IPL 2022 auction: 10 popular cricketers who went unsold

The fourth highest run-scorer in IPL Suresh Raina went unsold in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He last represented Chennai Super Kings in the 2021 IPL and made 160 runs from 12 matches. His base price was Rs. 2 crores in this IPL auction.

Shakib Al Hasan

Undoubtedly, the IPL 2021 was not that great for former Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan who represented Kolkata Knight Riders. From 8 games, he picked 4 wickets and scored 47 runs. He went unsold in the IPL 2022 auction at his base price of Rs. 2 crores.

Steve Smith

Australian cricketer Steve Smith last played for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2021. From 8 matches, he scored just 152 runs which speaks loud to why he was nobody's pick in the IPL 2022 mega auction. His base price was Rs. 2 crores.

Eoin Morgan

English player Eoin Morgan who captained Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021 was not retained by the franchise. But to everyone's surprise, the English ODI and T20I captain was not picked by anyone even at his base price of Rs. 1.5 crores.

Kane Richardson

Australian cricketer Kane Richardson who represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last IPL played only one match and then pulled himself out of the tournament. He kept his base price at Rs. 1.5 crores in the IPL 2022 auction but found no buyer.

Colin Munro

New Zealand cricketer Colin Munro was released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2020. Since then, no franchise has picked him at the auction and this year too he went unsold at his base price of Rs. 1.5 crores.

Moises Henriques

Aussie all-rounder Moises Henriques who was bought by Punjab Kings ahead of the 2021 IPL, played 5 matches, scored 31 runs and picked 4 wickets. In the IPL 2022 mega auction, he went unsold at his base price of Rs. 1 crore.

Andrew Tye
