Military service is mandatory for all males in South Korea. From K-pop idols to blue collar workers, ever male has to enlist for over 18 months between 18 to 28 years.

However, Korea's strict enlistment system also has exceptions. Here's 5 K-pop idols and singers who didn't have to enlist, despite being Korean and holding a South Korean passport.

The 1st gen K-pop idol was exemption from military service as he did not meeting the educational requirements to enlist. At that time, graduating from junior high school, a degree at Korea Kent Foreign School was not acknowledged.
